Winter Tracking and Tree Identification
02/10/2024 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM ET
Description
Ever seen some strange looking tracks in the snow or mud and wondered what left them? On this casual excursion through wooded wetland, we will learn how to identify the tracks and sign of different mammals as we look for evidence of the critters that live around our trails. Very few mammals in Connecticut are true hibernators - while some slow down and take more naps, many also remain active through the winter searching for food and staying warm. Along the way we will also look at trees and learn how to identify certain species using bark patterns and texture.
This event is free. Registration required.
